Podcast Training

Learn to record your own podcast. Keep the studio for the rest.

A one-to-one training and consulting path across the whole flow: choosing the gear, recording, editing and post-production. We start from what you already own and design a setup that makes you autonomous.

Teaching at the Brescia Conservatory and at HULT International Business School in London, training for teams and labels, one-to-one paths since 2021.

01Gear & setupAudio interface, microphones, cables, acoustic treatment: we draw up the list together and set everything up for your room and your budget.
02Recording sessionsLevels, mic technique, remote guests and safety takes: how to run a session so the raw audio is already halfway there.
03Editing & post-productionCuts, cleanup, music and effects, loudness targets: the workflow that turns a recording into a finished episode.
04Publishing & distributionExport settings, hosting platforms, feeds and metadata, so every episode lands where your audience listens.

    Remote or in person

Two ways to work, the same path.

Sessions are booked by the hour and adapt to your pace: an intensive block to get started, or one-off meetings whenever a specific doubt comes up.

    Remote
    €35 / hour

Video call with screen sharing and shared notes. Ideal for gear advice, editing sessions and quick follow-ups.

    In person
    €40 / hour

In your space, hands on the actual gear: we place the microphones, tune the room and record a real session together.

In-person sessions outside our area may include travel costs, agreed with you before we start.

    The base path

About 10 hours to do it properly.

A 10-hour path is usually enough to cover the whole flow: around €350 remote, or €400 in person. It stays flexible: more or fewer hours, or ad-hoc meetings whenever you need them.

    • A first call to map what you already have and what the show needs.

    • A gear list drawn up together: for equipment we usually point to Thomann.it, a safe bet.

    • Hands-on sessions on recording, editing and post-production, using your own material.

    • The ten hours cover the whole flow, from the signal chain to publishing.

    Programme

    Ten sessions, one hour each.

This is the full path, from the first call to a published episode. The order is the one we teach, but the programme adapts to what you already know: if you are ahead on a topic, that hour moves where it is needed more.

    1. 01The signal chainHow sound travels from the microphone to the computer, and why every step matters.
    2. 02Microphone and roomWhere to place it, how far away, how your room sounds and how to improve it without rebuilding it.
    3. 03The projectSetting up the session in your recording software, with one track per microphone.
    4. 04LevelsRecording loud without distorting. A proper soundcheck, every time.
    5. 05Basic editingCutting, moving, joining, fading, removing mistakes and breaths: the same moves in your software and in online platforms.
    6. 06The templateA project ready to duplicate for every episode, with folders and file names. Plus the running order, written in advance, that cuts editing time.
    7. 07Dry runYou record a session on your own, with setup and pack-down times already planned. Then we solve whatever came up, together.
    8. 08The soundThe tools that clean up a voice and what they actually do: EQ, compressor and limiter for the finishing touches.
    9. 09Music and exportTheme and music, where to get them and how to use them. Final edit, correct loudness, delivery files and backups.
    10. 10PublishingHosting, RSS feed, titles, descriptions, artwork. And how to get the episode moving once it is online.

    What you take away

At the end of the path you keep more than what you learned: you keep the material you will work with every week.

    • The project template, ready to duplicate for every episode.

    • The before and after recording checklists.

    • The common problems sheet, with the fixes.

    • The folder structure and file naming convention.

    • The voice chain settings, dialled in for your microphone.

    • The running order template and the episode data sheet.

    After the training

Record it yourself, hand us the rest.

Once you are autonomous on recording you have full flexibility on schedules, dates and guests. Send us the raw audio and we take care of advanced editing, mixing and distribution.
